Elected Officials Forum

McLeod For Tomorrow

Empowering McLeod County communities to build a better tomorrow through communication, education and networking

Dear McLeod County Community Leader:

The elected Officials Forum scheduled for Thursday, July 30, has been cancelled due to busy summer schedules and conflict with other schedule meetings.

The next Elected Officials Forum is scheduled for October 29.  Check back for updates.

2009 Elected Officials Forum – The first of four scheduled forums for all elected and appointed officials from the county, cities, schools, SWCD and townships was held on January 29.  The purpose was to: 1) give input to local legislators on relief of unfunded state mandates, and 2) identify possible projects for shared purchasing of goods and services.  A formal letter and supporting document was sent to local legislators with the request to be the voice of local leaders in regards to addressing the identified mandates.

Mailings for Future Events – In order to reduce expenses, notices will no longer be mailed to every elected official.  This letter and all future correspondence is being sent to only two individuals from each local government unit.  We ask that you please share this information with all members of your board/council at your next meeting.  The mailing list includes: cities (city manager and mayor); townships (clerk and board chair); and school districts (superintendent and board chair). Electronic notices will also be sent to elected officials who provide us with their email addresses.  Please send your e-mail address to  Mary Jo Wieseler at the address listed below and you will receive e-mail updates concerning the McLeod For Tomorrow events.  In addition, information will be posted on our website at www.mcleodfortomorrow.com

Thank you for your continued support.  Together we can build a stronger McLeod County community!
