Leadership Program

Our leadership program “bridges” people together who come from different industries, communities and backgrounds in McLeod County. Each month, leadership program participants go deep on a leadership topic in a different city and take exclusive tours of businesses in McLeod County. When people connect with others outside their normal circle, innovation is sparked and leaders emerge. This leadership experience creates a desire to do more in our community that extends beyond just the attendees and where they live. McLeod For Tomorrow impacts all people and businesses in McLeod County through civic engagement, economic impacts, volunteering and sharing learned skills, while having fun!

How The Program Works

Participants gather monthly from September through May in the communities throughout the county. Each day includes leadership training, meeting with community leaders and touring businesses, organizations or points of interest in that particular community. Participants will tour, study and enjoy lunch together. Wrap-up includes time for reflection on the day’s topics, speakers and tours.

Who Can Participate

Each cohort is comprised of a maximum of 24 participants. Participants must live or work in McLeod County. They may have lived here their whole lives, or they may have just started a new job in our county, or recently moved here.  Learning is enhanced with a variety of viewpoints and experiences among program participants, aided by the application process.  Participants can be current or emerging leaders who demonstrate an interest in future leadership roles in our communities, our organizations, our businesses and especially in our county. We encourage all who have interest to apply!

Why Should A Business Sponsor An Employee?

At MFT, leadership is contagious. We have seen people develop their leadership skills through our program and go back to work with new ideas, earn promotions and build extraordinary partnerships. This is why many leading businesses in McLeod Country aim to send someone from their workforce through the MFT Leadership program every year. Our leadership program provides high-quality professional development at a very reasonable cost.
